Getting on a decorating television show has about the same odds of winning the lottery. Hit the Library. You will find miles of books about all types of decorating. Start with one room or one area of your house. Get books that show all types of styles, various colors, etc. Sit with your Mom and look at the books. You can get at least an idea of her style or colors…then break down the picture logically…..Paint colors (easy enough) Type of furniture, lots of accessories, clean empty spaces…..it really isn’t that hard to break down all the pieces and re-create a type of look. Garage sales and flea markets are always great places to look. Once you get a room done, you can work on the next space, coordinating the two. You might want to get a book or two on simple color theory. It can teach you about colors, how they work together, etc. That would help you coordinate your rooms and spaces with colors that flow into the next space, and not clash. Good luck!!!
