I would put the outdoor lights up now cuz it gets too cold to do it later. We won’t light them til after Thanksgiving. I usually get the tree and indoor decorations up the first week of December
I think the day after Thanksgiving is the way to go. That way you observe Thanksgiving and have the most time to enjoy your Christmas decorations. Merry Christmas!!!
We decorate the week after Thanksgiving. My mom likes to recover from making dinner and working the weekend after Thanksgiving (Black Friday). We both work retail so it is beyond crazy!
First the outside — and I start that the weekend after Thanksgiving (It is just too early otherwise — and I’ve seen homes ALREADY Decorated Outside AND inside — where is the THANKFULNESS for the BLESSINGS we have received during the year when you are already starting on the season of greed like the stores!)
Then … on or just after the 1st of December — I start pulling out the inside the home decorations and do that up for Christmas. By doing it this way, I know I can let myself focus more on being Thankful than on Greed (but that doesn’t make that much of a dent in selfish young adults …) and try to get a better message out to the now adult children.
I start decorating the inside of my house the week of Thanksgiving, and the outside the day before. I turn on my lights Thanksgiving night, and I buy my tree and set it up the day after.
My outside lights are up now but I wont turn them on until after Thanksgiving. I will start on the inside this weekend. I love the decorations everything is happy and festive.

I start on the Friday after Thanksgiving! The more time to celebrate Christmas the better.
early, because if I’m going to go through all the work to do it, I might as well enjoy it for a long while! Plus I love it!
I always decorate Thanksgiving night or anytime that weekend.
I don’t anymore. It just got old and tiresome over the years and I usually spend Christmas alone or with just one daughter.

I live in the northeast so we need to put the decorations up while it’s still warm enough to work.
